All I have to say is:
Youth is wasted on the young.
To wit:
“All you young whipper snappers (aka anyone younger than me)….
Appreciate your health and well-being as much as you can, while you have them.
It’s just plain heck to see one’s body smoosh this way and then that way and then wheeee.
But of course, things could always be worse and that’s what to remember.
Going to take awhile for elbow/shoulder to heal. In the meanwhile, no more strength training (which was my fav exercise activity) but I can still do 1 armed aquajogging so yay.
Always look at what’s still possible compared to what has been lost.

See…. because my right arm is acting up, I cannot really move it much during swimming.
So my aquajogging was…. character-building!
I ended up making this in the parking lot:

Don’t forget yesterdays:
Where was I? Ah yes, Monday!
Yesterday was a day of Beaks of Doom.
See, I normally rest on Sundays…
But I was REALLY compelled to write!
ie:
“Never waste inspiration mode.
Today was meant to be a See Barbara Rest Totally 140% day.
Until I realized I *really* wanted to write about split testing.
So… I compromised and worked in bed for most of the day with my music and movies on in the background.
I didn’t waste the inspiration…
… but I STILL managed to kinda sorta have a restful time as well!
So many times, people ask me, Barb, how do you do it? You’re nonoptimal more than optimal half the time, you arry more hardware in your ankle than Home Depot, you’re doing not only your launches but launches with Dennis Becker for the Sean Mize business we recently bought…. how do you do it?
My answer?
I do it by working when I’m optimal, resting when not, and turning on a dime whenever its needed. Inspirational times are HUGELY valuable and I do my best NOT to waste them… and if that means I have to compromise in weird ways, well, I do it.
I don’t make excuses.
Well, actually, sometimes I DO make excuses.
And I am hugely unproductive. But I accept the fact that the next day, I have to make up for it.

Life and health will always throw you curveballs.
And that’s good. Life SHOULD do that… nothing in this world is guaranteed.
Your challenge is to simply put that to your own benefit and rebound, stronger than ever.
